Hi prospective Barn Hunters. Are you interested in letting your dog have the time of their life running, jumping on bales of straw and sniffing out critters? The best activities ever if you are a dog!! In barn hunt your dog will be looking for a live rat that is placed in a safe dog-proof container, that is hidden under loose straw and placed on stacked straw bales. The dogs are in an escape proof arena, hunting independently with just you and the instructor. Go to our training page where you can see a video of a dog having a great time hunting for those tubes.
There will be 3 sessions between 10am and 3pm. Each session will be one hour and a half long, with a maximum of 10 dogs. The first half hour will be a lecture outlining the rules and procedures of Barn Hunt. Then the dogs will go one by one into the training ring with just you and the instructor. If you have more than one dog, plan on having a helper to hold one dog, or a crate or car where the dog not working can wait for their turn. The cost is $45/dog and the sessions are as follows:
Session I – 10 am – 11:30 am
Session II – 12 pm – 1:30 pm
Session III – 1:30 pm – 3 pm
Email us to sign up for the session of your choice. You will pay cash or check at the beginning of each session.
Come out and give Barn Hunt a try. Your dog will thank you!
