December 28, 2022 @ 9:00 am - December 30, 2022 @ 3:00 pm
Since Marie Doremus and Tina Bevan will not be giving Barn Hunt lessons until January 16, Silver Rose Ranch will be holding practice sessions for Novice – Master levels. These sessions are intended to offer handlers an opportunity to practice hunting at their level. They are not lessons.
Each dog and handler will have an opportunity to run in a mock trial. There will be a “judge” with a timer supervising the run as if it were an actual competition run. There will be the appropriate level tunnels and tubes , and the time will be according to the level being hunted. The only difference from a real trial is, you will be able to train your dog using treats, toys or verbal rewards. However, you only have the time normally allotted for a run at your level of competition – 2 min for Novice, 2.5 min. Open, 3.5 Senior, 4.5 Master. The “judge” will be calling every element you get correct or incorrect, just like in a real trial.
Every team will have three runs per session. Cost per session is $40/Nov-Open, and $45/Senior-Master. Please sign up by emailing Tina. We will limit each session to 5 dogs.
Don’t delay – Sessions will fill fast. Email tmacbevan@aol.com to secure your spot.
